いきなりですが、私は基本座らない生活をしています。基本在宅ワークなので、寝る時以外はほぼ立ちっぱなしです。こういった生活を始めてからもう1年くらい経ちました。
この習慣はダイエット・健康・仕事の効率化等を解決してくれる素晴らしいものです。是非参考にしていただければと思います。
なぜ座らなくなったのか？
腰痛が原因です。
今まで腰痛になった事は無かったのですが、外出した際のふとしたタイミングで
「ピキッ！！！」
え？なにこれ・・・？
立っているのもつらい状態になってしまいました。
一度腰痛になってしまうと一生つきあっていかないとならないというイメージがあったので、とにかく腰痛を改善する方法を調べまくりました。（アメトークの腰痛芸人では、苦しむ姿が笑えましたが、いざ自分の身に降りかかってくると恐怖。。。）
おそらく腰痛の原因としてデスクワークによる座りすぎ、体重増の可能性が高いのでは？と考えました。この２点をどのように改善するを考えた結果、座らない生活に辿り着いたという訳です。
座らない生活を始めたら、腰痛はすっかり改善。今では腰に何の違和感もありません！腰をグリングリン回しても大丈夫です。
座らない生活のやり方
仕事はスタンディングデスク
とにかく腰が痛くて仕事ができなかったので、簡易的なものを購入しましたが、特に不自由は感じていません。（将来的には机ごと昇降するタイプがあってもいいかも。）
始業時間になったらスタンディングデスクの前に設置してあるステッパーの上に立って仕事を行います。ステッパーを探すのであればXISERがおすすめです。以下の記事も参考にしてください。
仕事をする際は姿勢も気をつけてください。背筋を伸ばして立ったときに、ディスプレイが目の前にくるよう調節します。せっかく立って仕事しても、目線が下にいく事で腰に負担をかけては元も子もありません。
読書はステッパーの上
読書する時は、ステッパーの上で踏み踏みしながらiPadのkindleアプリを使います。
使っている
立ちながら本を読むと集中できないと思うかもしれませんが、実は逆です。
立っていると、座っている時より認知能力・集中力・判断力があがります。立つ事で第二の心臓と言われる「ふくらはぎ」を刺激して、血流が良くなり、脳に流れる血流も増えて脳が活性化されます。
また、脳は行動する事でドーパミンを出し、やる気につながります。やる気は脳の側坐核から分泌されるドーパミンによってもたらされている事が実証済みなのです。
動画鑑賞はステッパーの上
私はYouTubeでK-POPのMVを見るのが大好きなのですが、基本的にすべてステッパーの上で踏み踏みしながら見ています！
大画面でBLACKPINKやNewJeansを見てるだけで幸せです。ステッパー踏み踏みも捗ります。YouTube PremiumだとCM無しでMV見続けられるので、永遠にステッパー運動が続けられます。AmazonPrimeで映画を見るのもありですね。
電車移動時も座らない
座らない生活をしていると、不思議な事に座っている事に違和感を感じだします。座ってるともったいないっていう感覚が正しいかもしれません。なので、電車に乗っても座ろうという気が全く起きません。電車で座るという選択肢がないと、椅子をいち早く確保する必要がなくなるので気楽です。
座らない生活のメリット
寿命が40％長くなる？
座り仕事の人は、立ち仕事の人よりも寿命が40%短くなっているという研究結果があります。これって結構衝撃的ですよね。
仮に40%は大袈裟であったとしても、健康的に長生きしたい方は実践あるのみではないでしょうか？
だらだらする事が無くなる（行動的になる）
座っていると、なんとなくテレビやスマホをだらだら見ている事が多くないですか？ずっと立っていると、この「だらだら」が無くなります。実際私は無くなりました。多分前述した「行動する事によって分泌されるドーパミン」が影響しているのかもしれません。
私は座らない生活によって筋トレの回数が劇的に増えました。立ってうろうろしていると、筋トレのやる気もみなぎってくるんですよね。ドーパミン恐るべし！
消費カロリーが上がる
ずっと動き続けているので、特に運動をしなくても生活しているだけで消費カロリーが上がって痩せやすくなります。
これに筋トレをプラスすると、鬼に金棒です。太る気がしません。
足が引き締まる
これは妻に言われて気づいたのですが、明らかに足が細くなりました。服をきれいに着こなすためには足が細いほうがいいので、予想外のメリットです。
座らない生活のデメリット
疲れる
最初は疲れます。デスクワークをスタンディングデスクへ変更して1週間くらいは、仕事後に足が棒みたいになってました。本当に棒みたいでしたね。階段を降りるときによろよろしていたのを憶えています。
ただ、続けていると不思議と慣れちゃいます。１週間も経てば、「立って仕事をするのが当たり前ですけど？」みたいな感じです。
家族が落ち着かない
ずーっと動き続けている人がいるので、家族は落ち着かないと思います。私の家では特に文句をいう人がいませんが、周りは落ち着かないでしょうね。家族の理解が必要になります。でも健康的に長生きする事で家族にとってもプラスに働くんだから、大したデメリットではないと思います。
まとめ
腰痛も治るし、長生きできるし、痩せられるし、足も細くなる。
もっと早く座らない生活を始めていれば・・・と思いますが、「腰痛」問題に直面しないと気づけなったので、「腰痛」にもいいことがあるんですね。
